Podcast vol.35 (by Zombie Nation)

351.jpg

I asked Zombie if he wanted to do a podcast for us and he replied: “What a coincidence. I hate doing dj mixes, and I never did one in the last 3 years until today.” So here you have it…

While the Munich based producer is best known for his NHL-anthem ‘Kernkraft 400′, he’s hardly a commercial dance act, having produced darker, gritty techno both under ‘Zombie Nation’, his alias ‘John Starlight’, and as one half of ZZT along with Tiga. He’s one of the best performer’s in live techno, foregoing the ubiquitous Ableton setup in favor of an oldschool approach centered around the classic MPC. He’s got incredible stage presence, mixing control with chaos in just the right proportion, with enough novelty (masks, fake blood, head banging) to keep crowds staring in awe.

John Starlight’s ‘Road Rage’ has just been given an incredible remix by Popof, and the new ZZT record ‘The Worm’ is set to drop in October on Turbo Recordings.

Hello,
This is more of a general comment than one to this specific podcast.
I was wondering why I never hear something from the Border Community label in your podcasts? They are a force to be reckoned with you know, seriously.. Do you have a reason? Or just didn’t thought about it?

As for the rest, this is definitly my favourite podcast. And everytime when theres a new podcast, I feel a moment of true happiness.

Florian.

and Zombie Nation, of Course.

Hey
First of al thanx for the cool podcasts. Most of them rock hard. But I think it’s a shame that there is no tracklist provided with them. I think of podcast (and music blogs) as a great way to find new music, and surely the zombie nation pocast contains some fine tracks. But without a tracklist I will never be able to walk into my record store and buy them.

P.S does anyone know the name of the tracks that is mixed into Kids?

Thanks for the amazing performance last night in the Flexbar, Amsterdam and for signing my turbo shirt with your crazy artwork AND for giving me 5 euros off on the other shirt :D thank you thank you haha.
I see that your going to Osaka and Tokyo soon, amazing. Japan is sooo much fun. I was there this summer, at the border community night in Osaka and club Womb in Tokyo. Crazy Japanese people everywhere and amazing sets!
Have fun, see you later.
