In his new podcast, DMX Krew continues the exploration of “music he was into”, this time taking on early 90’s techno and acid in my favorite podcast to date, focusing on the emerging sound from Detroit and the UK.
Moving through our ‘tweens’, the early ’90s was a pretty shameful era. While we had limited access through Tiga to glimpse some of the excitement of Rave, we were a bit too young to take part, and had our own murky waters to wade through. Pearl Jam, anyone? “Nah man, it’s all about the PUMPKINS.” It was either grunge or C&C Music Factory. It was the birth of the boy band. Girls our age stil liked NKOTB. Never has the disparity between the underground and the popular been greater. Except maybe now.
So listen up, downloading pod-follower, lest history repeat itself. Pay attention to the sound of the underground. Trust in DMX Krew.
We trust him because he delivers one amazing podcast after another. Enjoy!
